Season 2.0 is coming…
After much deliberation with the higher ups, Andy and I have managed to convince the studio that we deserve another season of “P! Company: Sketch Comedy for Nerds”. I made it a point that since we don’t actually drain the corporate budget with inflated salaries and our “show” only airs on the internet [world wide web], we are essentially “free advertising” for our parent organization [Pyramid of Pain Inc.]
BUT, nothing in life is free. In order to continue providing the occasional humor to the masses, we would need to pay for another year of hosting on the server. This is where we hit our first snag. Andy pulled out the big-guns for this one. He had provided a “Demo tape” that highlighted the best and brightest moments of what we affectionately called season one. We laughed- we cried; however the suits seemed unamused, as if they had just watched a series of boring forwarded YouTube videos.
Finally, the compromise. We would be allowed to continue if and only if 1) Andy and I assumed all the costs of production and 2) if we spread into some alternate “new media”-esque venues. We reluctantly agreed because we knew that they still maintained the rights to the name. So the good news is the P! Company is back for Season 2 and there is the promise of an Austin-based Live Show is on the horizon [maybe as soon as August]. More details on that as it develops.
SO, for your viewing pleasure, here is the demo video that won over the hearts of a nation. [Click on the above cassette tape to view]
