The P! Company is a distinct blend of absurd, smart, and downright strange sketch comedy.

Originally based in Katy, TX, The P! Company evolved from playing with video cameras after school into an obsession for its co-founders and long-time friends, Andy Petruzzo and Kyle Sweeney. Everyone thought they were total freakazoids. But they were wrong — and then they were dead. Dead wrong, that is.

Throughout high school and college, The P! Company fire burned hot within these two rad dudes. One day, Kyle asked Andy, “How can we become cooler?” Andy responded with three words: “The Internet.” The original incarnation of this website launched in June 2006 as a conduit for their videos, after having realized that forcing people to watch VHS tapes of our sketches at birthday parties was somewhat limiting.

Soon, The P! Company turned to the stage at Austin’s ColdTowne Theater, where we continue to perform sweet shows, a blend of live and taped comedy, on a regular basis. Featuring material about sci-fi, UFOs, comic books, video games, and other alt fare, there’s something for every kind of nerd out there - even cool nerds. (Geeks need not apply). Since joining the Coldtowne Theater community, The P! Company has had the opportunity to work with, sleep with, and recruit some of Austin’s best comic minds.

If you live in the Austin area, the time to celebrate draws nigh - The P! Company will launch a new batch of live shows in Fall 2008 at the University of Texas and will continue to perform at Coldtowne Theater. If you don’t live in the greater Austin area, don’t despair! The P! Company updates this site regularly with material from our shows as well as strictly online content.

Who knows what’s next for this ragtag group of rogues and rapscallions? I do, but it’s a secret. (The secret is: “cool.”)
