Andy here. It’s been a while since I’ve posted – but I’ve got something that will blow your mind!!!
For many young actors, the allure of stage and screen proves irresistible. It takes years of training, hard work, sacrifice, and a lucky break to even get on a commercial. I got that break in 1990 on a Houston KTRK Channel 13 broadcast of “Good Morning Houston.”
It was after this brush with fame that I got a free ride to Julliard and hobnobbed with some of the greats, including Peter Jurasik from Babylon 5.
Watch – all you actors out there might just learn a little something about a thing called “acting.”
And stay for the 10pm- Your Terrific Neighbors and Midnight Society wrap up the evening’s performances. Then… the partying starts. (Or so I’m told- I’m not exactly sure what all that party stuff is about.)
The inaugural year of the ATX Sketchfest is here. The sketch comedy festival, put on by local comedy theater- Coldtowne, will officially kick off it’s inaugural year Thursday Night (tonight) starting at 8pm. Groups from all over are performing this weekend- notably: Dear Frailty, Your Terrific Neighbors, Midnight Society, Shanty Town Lake, Stag, Ghetto Sketch Warlock, Audience of Two, and David Holmes and the Friday Forty- to name a few.
But best of all, The P! Company is performing in the popular Friday- 8pm slot. So, pick up your tickets here!
So prepare to see some of what the P! Company has been up to over the last couple of months with both video and live sketches or so. 2010 is the year of the P! Company- so get ready for a lot more action here (the web) and here (locally in Austin, TX).
Some of you may be asking, “Andy, Kyle, where have you been and/or what have we been up to?” Well, I’ll be the first to say- we were abducted and replaced with sleeper Andy and Kyle agents by a group of aliens who were attempting a secret invasion (and the ultimate comedy coop against you, our unsuspecting public). It was these “Andy and Kyle” facsimiles who were withholding the funny videos and the big comedy shows that you wanted.
Luckily, I had access to my cellphone to continue tweeting (@thepcompany) throughout the entire ordeal. And the aliens, cruel as they may be, did allow us to perform back in January for the Montreal Comedy Showcase- which was a pretty great show in case you missed it.
Anyway, stuff’s been crazy- simple as that. But the P! Company is back, again. the P! Company has been recharging the ole batteries, and is ready to unleash the best and brightest comedy back at you in person and on the web!
I wanted to warn all you P! Companauts (for realz-y) that the site is going to be updated regularly with new blogs, videos, and sketches. So stick around for more fun from us in the coming weeks.
